Every company has a list of jobs that will get done one day; streamlining procedures, digitising records, upgrading the offices. The problem is, that ‘one day’ rarely comes; simply turning a profit keeps you busy enough, and even if you did have time you might not have the budget or the right skills in your team to do the job properly.
Manufacturing businesses are no different. Perhaps there is that waste stream that contains some of your valuable catalyst that you always mean to look at, or maybe it’s installing that piece of equipment that would have a huge impact on your process but you don’t really have the space on site or the capital budget for. Or maybe you want to scale up something from your R&D team but don’t have the downtime on your existing production lines to do it.
It’s at those moments where you wish there was a company with the right skills and equipment that you could outsource one of these ‘one day’ jobs to and make them happen ‘today’.
At R S Bruce, we have been toll manufacturing on behalf of our clients since the 1970s and have built up a wide range of chemical, mechanical, and thermal technologies. Our secure site has excellent links to all transport networks, experienced and skilled staff, and a host of equipment and operating licenses.
Whether it be recovering metals and metal oxides using chemical leaching, filtration, and ion exchange; crushing and milling slags, ingots, and ceramics; calcining and incinerating materials at temperatures up to 1,500 °C; or chemical blending and mixing in our 200 m3 tank farm, we are equipped to handle all kinds of hazardous and non-hazardous substances and can use our expertise for all your contract manufacturing requirements.
Alongside all our processing equipment we have a fully equipped analytical laboratory that can be used to validate the products of the toll processing we do for you. We also have the capability to test new production techniques from gram and millilitre scale up.
Some examples of the toll manufacturing work we have done in the past and could do for you are:
- Recovering precious metals from waste effluent streams
- Crushing aggregates and ores for further processing
- Removal of surface coatings
- Firing ceramic catalyst substrates to prepare for coating
- Thermal treatment of catalyst precursors to create finished product
- Material milling and sieving
- Chemical mixing and blending
